Algeria and Germany held a meeting in Berlin to discuss the ALTEH2A and SoutH2 Corridor projects, which aim to develop green hydrogen. The Algerian delegation, composed of officials from Sonatrach, Sonelgaz, and the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership with Germany through concrete projects in clean energy, new technologies, and energy transition. Discussions focused on reducing emissions in the gas sector, developing and marketing green hydrogen, and the national program to complete 15,000 MW of solar photovoltaic power by 2035. Both parties welcomed the existing cooperation between Sonatrach and German companies such as VNG, and emphasized the importance of training, knowledge transfer, and the legal framework for hydrogen. Finally, a project for a 50 MW semi-industrial station in Arzew, supported by Germany and the European Union, illustrates Algeria's commitment to becoming a major supplier of clean energy to Europe.
