Hachichi emphasized that the completion of this project, a part of the forward-looking vision of the country's highest authorities to achieve water security, within a timeframe not exceeding 25 months, "reflects the scale of the efforts deployed and the great mobilization of human and material resources mobilized by the Sonatrach Group".

100% Algerian expertise

The plant, built with 100% Algerian expertise by Sonatrach subsidiary Algerian Energy Company (AEC) and the Cosider Group, will supply drinking water to the wilayas of Tipaza, Algiers, Blida, and Medea.

This plant is part of a complementary program that includes constructing five large-scale seawater desalination plants, each with a production capacity of 300,000 m3/day.

Last Thursday, the President of the Republic inaugurated the Cap Blanc plant in Oran, with the same capacity of 300,000 m3/d.
