TSGP: Nigeria's Oil Minister affirms his country's commitment to the success of the project

ALGIERS - On Tuesday in Algiers, the Federal Republic of Nigeria's Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr Ekperikpe Ekpo, affirmed his country's commitment to ensuring the success of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) project.

In a statement to the press at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, following the audience granted to him and the accompanying delegation by the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Mr Ekpo affirmed that it had been decided, at the 4th ministerial meeting of the steering committee for the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) project, "to go ahead and relaunch the project".


The Minister, who was accompanied by the representative of the Nigerian oil and gas company, who is visiting Algeria to take part in the joint working group meetings alongside his Algerian and Nigerian counterparts, affirmed that "we are not going to give up on the trans-Saharan gas pipeline project".


After underlining the importance of the decisions taken by the ministers of the three countries following the conclusions of the joint expert team meeting, Mr Ekpo stated that he had informed the President of the Republic of the results achieved and that he was "satisfied".
