Samsung officially relaunches production in Algeria: Exports to Tunisia
The partnership between Algerian company Sinova and electronics giant Samsung was officially launched this week, with the assurance of national coverage and product availability at competitive prices, while aiming for a high integration rate in the production process.
"We aim to reduce our dependence on imports while stimulating the national economy," said Sinova's Managing Director, who described the launch as a major step forward for the country's industrial development, announcing that the Setif plant is already operational with four production units. These units specialize in key technological segments, including televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines. "We don't intend to stop there. In June, a fifth production line is planned to manufacture dishwashers and stoves. In 2025, Sinova also plans to introduce five new TV models, to achieve a 40% integration rate for TV slab production. The integration rate for TV sets is 25%", confided Djamil Belilta. The plant already produces QLED TV sets, air conditioners and motherboards, and is committed to offering a 20-year warranty on the compressors of its washing machines and refrigerators. "This year, 13 new refrigerator models are scheduled for launch," he added According to the Group boss, the company has begun export activities to Tunisia and plans to extend its network to Mauritania and Libya shortly. "This move marks our desire to internationalize operations and broaden our influence on the regional market", assures Sinova's CEO, who emphasized job creation and providing training. "Our objective is clear: to promote economic growth and position Algeria as an industrial leader on the regional scene", he stressed. Sinova thus aims to create sustainable employment opportunities, while developing training programs that will enable Algerians to acquire technical skills in the technology sector. Aligned with the government's economic diversification objectives, Sinova aims to play its part in revitalizing the national economy.
