The Smart City is a project born from an
innovative idea initiated by students aged between 9 and 11 from the
association “Jil Technologie” of Constantine, which consists in digitalizing
the way of life of its inhabitants with remote management, solar energy
distribution systems and evacuation and purification of rainwater and
wastewater systems, said to APS news agency, the president of this association,
Dr. Meriem Serarna. The project, which is being exhibited at Builtec fair in
the presence of local authorities and construction companies, exploits the
city’s wastewater for irrigation and industrial needs through an underground
network that redirects the amounts of water collected to a treatment plant, in
addition to automating the solar energy distribution system to achieve autonomy
in the availability of electricity, Serarna said.
On the other hand, the mortar for the
restoration of historical and archeological sites and the old buildings are
100% Algerian products manufactured by the company Silex with a view to
restoring and safeguarding the architectural heritage of the various regions of
the country, including those of the wilaya of Constantine, said the
representative of this company.
This mortar is a restoring element composed of
sand, special cements, fibers and additives, built with the aim of restoring
and protecting concrete and rigid materials structures and making the capping
homogeneous, but also strengthening the strength of the damaged structure.
Other products on display include “smart home”
technology products and remote facility management products, in addition to
innovative materials for modern buildings and the promotion of the future of
the building sector. As part of the exhibition, which is due to close on
Thursday, students from the architecture department of the University of Setif
had a field trip to visit the historic monuments of the wilaya of Constantine,
organized by the “Architecture, City and Heritage Foundation” and Mediasmart
company
