New Water Resources Minister, Mustapha Kamel Mihoubi, takes office

On this occasion, Mr. Mihoubi addressed his thanks to the President of the Republic, for the confidence he has placed in himself, assuring that he will continue the efforts already made by his predecessor Mr. Baraki for the development of this sector. "sensitive and strategic".

In addition, he said that many priority tasks should be accomplished especially as the country is going through a "difficult" period marked by water stress and falling dam water levels due to insufficient rainfall.

Among the priorities of the sector he now heads, the new minister highlighted in particular the supply of the populations of remote areas with drinking water as part of the development of gray areas, but also the continuation of the projects included in the national plan. water resources including network maintenance, resource management, sanitation and wastewater treatment.

Aged 55, Mr. Mihoub holds a doctorate in hydraulics. He had held the post of Secretary General at the Ministry of Water Resources, as he had held several positions of responsibility including that of Director of the National School of Hydraulics (ENSH).
