Algerian stand attracts interest from Japanese companies at Africa Lounge trade fair

The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) stand at the Africa Lounge trade fair, held from August 20 to 22 in Yokohama, Japan, attracted interest from Japanese companies, the agency said in a statement on Friday.

On the sidelines of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 2025), an economic fair brought together 195 exhibitors from Africa and Japan. Algeria was represented by the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Noureddine Ouadah, as an envoy of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Many Japanese companies interested in Algeria as a gateway to the African market visited the stand of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI). These companies, active in the agri-food, automotive, electronics and railway signalling sectors, received information on the business climate in Algeria and recent legal and land reforms aimed at attracting foreign investment and strengthening economic cooperation with Japan.
