The press release states, "At the meeting, attended by Noureddine Yassaâ, Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy, in charge of Renewable Energies, and Ministry executives, Ms. Chentouf gave a presentation on her academic and research project aimed at supporting major oil companies in their transition to sustainable practices.
She also presented the South Mediterranean project (MedSud), dedicated to sustainable development in the Mediterranean region.
On this occasion, the researcher reaffirmed her willingness to share her expertise with national companies, particularly in terms of energy transition, local manufacture of solar equipment, evaluation of international partnerships in the energy field, as well as the development of human capacities, scientific research and specialized training in Algeria, adds the same source.
This meeting is part of a drive to strengthen exchanges with national skills based abroad, and to exchange views on their contribution to national development programs, particularly in strategic scientific and technological sectors such as renewable energies, the transformation of economic models in the energy sector, the exploitation of mining resources and the preparation of strategic studies linked to the energy, mining and renewable energies sectors.
The meeting also discussed ways of cooperating in other areas, such as analysing public policies related to international agreements in the energy sector, and the strengthening of financing instruments for renewable energy projects.
The aim is also to take advantage of Ms. Chentouf's experience as an economic advisor who took part in Algeria's negotiations with the World Trade Organization (WTO), and as a lecturer at several European universities specializing in management and international trade, according to the press release.
In this context, Mr. Arkab praised Ms. Chentouf's skills, asserting that "the Algerian Government, under the leadership and guidance of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is paying particular attention to making the most of skills established abroad and to creating the right conditions to contribute to the national economic transition process, particularly in the fields of renewable energies, training and innovation".
For her part, the researcher reaffirmed her commitment to continuing to work and cooperate with the sector, and to putting her experience at the service of the country to contribute to the success of sustainable development projects and the achievement of Algeria's energy sovereignty, the press release concludes.
