The inauguration ceremony for the new airline route connecting Algiers to N'Djamena, via Douala (Cameroon), was attended by representatives of the Algerian Ministry of Transport, the CEO of Air Algérie, and the Chadian ambassador to Algeria. This initiative follows instructions given by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025) with a view to strengthening ties between Algeria and Chad.
The route will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, and benefits from fifth freedom rights, allowing passengers to also travel between Douala and N'Djamena. This launch aims to develop economic relations between the two countries, consolidate Algeria's commitment to African integration, and strengthen Air Algérie's presence on the continent.
The CEO of Air Algérie emphasized that this route opens up new opportunities for cooperation in the field of air transport in Africa. The Chadian ambassador, hailing this achievement as a historic day, expressed his satisfaction and his desire to increase the frequency of flights in line with demand.
