IMF-WB: Governor of the Bank of Algeria participates in Annual Meetings

The Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Salah Eddine Taleb, will take part in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) in Washington from October 13 to 18, 2025, the Bank of Algeria said in a statement released on Sunday.

A major global economic event

These meetings, which bring together economic and financial leaders from around the world each year, will address several strategic issues related to global economic prospects and growth challenges in an international context marked by profound economic and technological transformations.

Active representation of Algeria

On this occasion, Mr Taleb will speak at the plenary session of the IMF's International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) in his capacity as country constituency representative.

He will also take part in the MENAP (Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan) group meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, as well as several discussions within the framework of the African Consultation Group.

High-level bilateral meetings

On the sidelines of these discussions, the Governor of the Bank of Algeria will hold several bilateral meetings, notably with the Director of the IMF's Middle East and Central Asia Department, as well as with officials from international financial institutions and central bank governors, according to the same source.
