These instructions were given during a coordination meeting chaired by Mr. Zitouni, attended by senior ministry officials, to review several issues relating to economic control, market supply, and school supply fairs.
After listening to detailed presentations on the state of the national market and recent control campaigns, including field interventions, recorded violations, and legal measures taken, the minister emphasized the need to continue and intensify control operations, particularly during this heatwave in certain provinces, to reduce the risk of food poisoning and protect consumer health.
Concerning school supplies fairs, Mr. Zitouni emphasized "the need to make them economical spaces offering a variety of quality products at reduced prices, thereby helping to strengthen households' purchasing power."
The minister also ordered ministry officials to visit the field to inquire about the organization and ensure the smooth operation, with a view to achieving the expected economic and social objectives, according to the statement.
In the same context, "the minister has given instructions to allow producers and importers to sell directly to retailers to reduce intermediaries and lower distribution costs," the statement concludes.
