Algeria: the 2nd Leather Industries Cluster to be created

As part of the regional meetings planned by the Ministry of Industry to "revive the two segments of the textile and leather industries in our country", the National Strategic Commission of these two industries will organise, on Monday, 12 December 2022, at the the amphitheatre of the Popular Assembly of Wilaya de Tlemcen, the third regional meetings, under the slogan "Reality and Perspectives of the development of the leather processing industries," the press release states.

More than 150 operators operating in the manufacturing industries, including the wilaya de Tlemcen and neighbouring wilayas, will take part in these meetings.

These sessions will include interventions on the importance of the collection, processing and exploitation of the raw material of leather, as well as on the impact of intensive imports of finished products on the competitiveness of the domestic product and the means of protecting it.

It is planned that a memorandum of understanding will be signed in conjunction with this meeting for the creation of the second cluster of the leather industries, between GETEX group, leading private institutions in this field, professional associations and the National Institute of Vocational Training and Education.
