Industry: Algeria wants to revive the textile sector

Algeria is focusing on reviving the textile sector. With this in mind, the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, met on Saturday, October 4, with officials from the holding company GETEX, which specializes in the textile and leather industries.

During a meeting dedicated to reviving the textile industry, Minister Yahia Bachir emphasized the strategic importance of this sector, which has historically been a pioneer in Algeria. After reviewing the current situation of the group concerned, he proposed a series of measures to revitalise the industry, notably through management modernisation, digital integration, innovation, and compliance with international standards. The minister also called for the development of partnerships with the private sector to ensure a real qualitative leap forward. He pledged to support the company in removing regulatory, structural, and financial obstacles and to establish regular monitoring to assess the progress of recovery projects.
