The Minister of Industry visited the Djelfa cement plant project site, which has an estimated annual output of 3 million tonnes. This strategic project, worth 50 billion dinars, is one of the industrial assets recovered by the State as part of a national economic recovery strategy. It is now co-owned 51% by the state-owned Gica group and 49% by the Chinese partner CSCEC. During the visit, several decisions were taken to speed up finalization of the project, including the appointment of an expert to assess technical and financial requirements.

Located on a 100-hectare site in Aïn El Ibel, the complex will generate 350 direct jobs and over 700 indirect ones. Initially launched in 2008 and then frozen for legal reasons, the project has now been relaunched as part of a balanced partnership to promote skills transfer. This initiative illustrates the State's determination to rehabilitate recovered industrial assets, with enhanced technical and administrative support. The aim is to boost the national economy and strengthen the country's industrial sovereignty.
