“Despite the stiff
competition from foreign products, we are attractive in the market because we
have excellent products with good value for money,” says Fatah Amrouche, head
of department responsible for trade shows and fairs with Getex public textiles
and leather group.
According to Mr. Amrouche, Algerians
“increasingly tend to consume locally made products and Made in Algeria has
even become one of the criteria that determine the choice of their purchases.”
“This encourages us to move forward to further increase and diversify our
production and distribution network,” he told APS.
In this connection, he said that Getex had drawn
up a roadmap for strengthening its presence throughout the country,
particularly in the far south and the neighbouring wilayas.
In addition to the development of the leather
and textile sector, he highlighted Getex’s contribution to promoting the
circular economy through its waste collection and recycling plant in Bejaia.
'Part of the work involves collecting scraps of cloth to make kitchen items
(dishcloth, tablecloth, apron...) and polypropylene scraps that are used to
produce mop and various bedding products,' he explained.
