In 2017, China represented the largest number of participants (141), closely followed by Turkey (134), Italy (64) and France (51). Driven by Algeria’s new economic impetus, especially in rapidly expanding sectors such as construction, China is poised to become a major beneficiary of Algeria’s economic recovery plans once again. Indeed, after years in which a large majority of Algeria’s public construction contracts were awarded to Chinese groups, this global economic power  looks to reassert itself as a major partner in an increasingly promising Algerian market. Previous achievements include the Sheraton Hotel in Algiers El-Quds shopping centre in Chéraga and the Grand Mosque in Algiers. The Chinese partner’s return, supported by the emergence of partnerships in various economic sectors, gave rise to mixed companies.
