Publication of the new mining law in the Official Journal (Office Gazette)

The law governing mining activities was published in Official Journal (OJ) No. 52. This new law, No. 25-12, signed on August 3 by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aims to enhance the attractiveness of the mining sector in Algeria and improve the investment climate through a series of incentives and provisions encouraging mining investment, while strengthening transparency.

Law No. 25-12 on mining activities, published in Official Journal No. 52 and signed on August 3 by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aims to enhance the attractiveness of the mining sector in Algeria and improve the investment climate through incentives and provisions promoting transparency. It is part of a series of reforms designed to consolidate economic sovereignty, diversify the economy, create direct and indirect jobs, and encourage the development of SMEs. The result of three years of consultation with industry stakeholders, the law was adopted by the National People's Assembly on June 16 and by the Council of the Nation on July 8.
