Condor, through its sales manager for centralised air conditioners, is stressing the importance of local production of compressors, a key component in refrigeration systems. This initiative aims to reduce dependence on imports, which account for 40% of the equipment cost, and to increase local integration, a priority for the company and the Algerian economy.

The project is being carried out in partnership with a Chinese company and is expected to enter its first operational phase in 2025. Ultimately, Condor plans to produce compressors for its products and other manufacturers, thereby boosting competitiveness and positioning Algeria as a key player in regional industrial production.

Condor is committed to innovation and will cease production of on/off technology air conditioners in 2024 to focus exclusively on models with inverter compressors, reducing energy consumption by 40%. This technology responds to the specific needs of the Algerian market, which faces problems with electricity supply and blackouts, and offers an effective solution even at low voltages.

Condor plans to increase its production of air conditioners in 2025, after producing 600,000 units in 2024, to better meet demand, particularly during heat waves. This increase in production aims to consolidate its position as a market leader.

Condor's ambitious project is not confined to product innovation; it will also contribute to the structural transformation of the Algerian industry. By producing strategic components locally, the company is strengthening Algeria's economic sovereignty and helping the country to position itself as a key industrial player in Africa.
