OPEC+: Arkab to attend 61st JMMC meeting on Monday

ALGIERS - On Monday, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, will take part by videoconference in the work of the 61st meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) of the signatory countries of the Declaration of Cooperation, a Ministry press release said on Sunday.

At this meeting, the ministers will assess compliance with production commitments for May and June 2025, analyze the current oil market and discuss its short-term prospects, the statement adds.

The JMMC, which meets on a bimonthly basis, is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the voluntary production adjustments decided under the Declaration of Cooperation, and for making recommendations aimed at supporting the stability and equilibrium of the world oil market, the document recalls.

It is composed of the oil ministers of eight countries: Algeria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait and Venezuela for OPEC member countries, and the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan for non-member countries.
