Work on the 43 km mining railway line bypassing the city of Tébessa, designed to transport phosphate to the port of Annaba, is now 71% complete. This new route, which passes through the municipalities of Tébessa, Bekkaria, and El Ma Labiod, aims to avoid trains passing through the urban centre, thereby reducing noise and pollution. The section is scheduled for completion before the end of 2026. Meanwhile, modernisation work on the line connecting Bled El Hadba to Oued Kebrit has been completed and is awaiting testing. At the same time, construction of eight passenger stations is progressing rapidly, with two more stations to come, to improve mobility for citizens and stimulate local economic activity.
