news-detail

The Minister responded to the concerns of the members of the Council of the Nation on the draft bill supplementing Law 01-11 of July 2001 on fisheries and aquaculture, reports APS.

Mr. Salawatchi stated in this context that his sector had been coordinating with other ministerial departments, including Finance, Transport and Public Works, with a view to finding a solution to the sandbank problem at ports.

Regarding the export of fishery products, Mr. Salawatchi said that the sector was working on "defining a model for the production and consumption of fishery products", reminding "the export in 2021 of USD 8 million through bluefin tuna fishing".

Regarding training, the Minister explained that international agreements had been signed to consolidate the importance of training and scientific research and to benefit from international experience in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.

As for the docking beaches, Mr. Salawatchi reported 23 redevelopment operations (including studies) proposed in the 2023 Finance Bill.
