Exports: Rezig Inaugurates the Steering Committee

Kamel Rezig, Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, presided over the inauguration ceremony for the Steering Committee of the National Export Agency on Monday, the ministry said in a statement.

Rezig emphasised the importance of this Council in supporting the government’s efforts to diversify the national economy. According to him, the body will be tasked with defining strategic directions likely to strengthen the presence of Algerian products on international markets, whilst working to improve their competitiveness and build the capacity of national exporting companies.

In this context, the minister called on the members of the Advisory Council to work in a spirit of cooperation and to propose practical initiatives that could help remove any obstacles faced by exporters, and to strengthen coordination between the various bodies and institutions involved in the field of foreign trade, the same source reported.

The statement concluded by emphasising the need to step up efforts to achieve the targets set for promoting non-hydrocarbon exports, in line with the President’s directives.
