Visiting the wilaya of Djelfa: Sifi Ghrieb inspects the industrial yeast plant project

Industry Minister Sifi Ghrieb paid a two-day visit to the wilaya of Djelfa on Saturday.

According to a Ministry press release, the purpose of the visit was to closely monitor the situation of the industrial sector in the wilaya, identify its strengths and challenges, inspect ongoing investment projects and those at an advanced stage of completion, assess the state of confiscated industrial assets currently in use, and support efforts to reintegrate them into the economic circuit.

 

In addition to inspecting several industrial projects in both the public and private sectors, in strategic areas such as agrifood, building materials, processing industries and technical equipment, Sifi Ghrieb visited the construction site of the "CHEMICAL SIM" industrial yeast plant project.

 

The same press release states that this project is "one of the new industrial projects of strategic importance to meet the needs of the national yeast market and reduce the import bill." It notes that during his visit to the project, the Minister heard a detailed technical presentation on the various stages of its construction, its production capacities and future prospects, and the organizational arrangements for its start-up.

 

"This project should contribute, as soon as it goes into production, to covering the entire yeast needs of the national market. This will reduce the import bill, which currently exceeds 100 million dollars per year, with real potential for export once self-sufficiency has been achieved", adds the same source.
