Digital economy: Algérie Télécom partners with Huawei
Algeria is taking a decisive step forward in its rapid digital transformation by launching its national 400G WDM project. Algérie Télécom, in partnership with multinational Huawei, is deploying a state-of-the-art optical network infrastructure covering the entire country.
Algérie Télécom and Huawei deploy 400G technology to accelerate digital transformation
Algérie Télécom, in partnership with Huawei, is launching the deployment of 400G technology, an ultra-high-speed solution designed to boost national connectivity and support the growth of the digital economy. The project is based on an all-optical network, offering extended bandwidth, reduced latency and enhanced reliability, to meet the growing needs of businesses, institutions and citizens.
The adoption of 400G will facilitate Algeria's digital transformation, enhancing strategic sectors such as e-commerce, cloud computing and big data. It will also directly impact digital public services, notably education, health and administration, by optimizing medical teleconsultations, distance learning and online procedures.
Huawei will leverage its expertise in optical communications to design a scalable network ready to adapt to the future demands of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). This modernization is a key lever for economic competitiveness and improving the quality of life in Algeria.
As part of its 2024-2028 strategy, Algérie Télécom plans to diversify its services beyond traditional telecommunications, by developing digital solutions such as cloud computing, IPTV and IoT. The company recently launched Twinbox, in collaboration with Djezzy, an all-in-one multimedia solution integrating educational applications for e-learning.
With these initiatives, Algérie Télécom is positioning itself as a key player in the national digital transformation, actively contributing to the digitalization strategy planned for 2025-2030.
