Cement and clinker: Beni Saf plant to export 45,000 tons by 2024

The Beni Saf cement plant, located in the wilaya of Aïn Temouchent and belonging to the Groupe Industriel des Ciments d’Algérie (GICA) (Industrial Group of Algerian Cements), exported around 45,000 tonnes of clinker and grey cement in 2024.

According to the plant's commercial director, Kadir Bouhadjar, 35,000 tons of clinker were shipped to Mauritania from the port of Oran last year. In addition to clinker, the plant exported around 10,000 tons of grey cement (GICA Béton) to Mauritania and Niger by land, according to the same source.

 

The plant plans to export 200,000 tonnes of grey cement by 2025

 

For the current year, the plant plans to export 200,000 tons of grey cement to European countries and to continue exporting clinker to African countries.

 

Orders have been booked for these products, notably grey cement (GICA Building and GICA Projects in 25-kg bags), which will go into production in the second quarter of this year.

 

Sales of 592,000 tons of grey cement and 203,000 tons of clinker in 2024

 

In 2024, the plant achieved sales of around 592,000 tons of grey cement and 203,000 tons of clinker. For 2025, it expects to reach sales of around 800,000 tons of grey cement and 100,000 tons of clinker.

 

The Beni Saf cement plant has a clinker production line with a total capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per year, including clinker and grey cement.
