Bechar: Technical tests on the western mining railway line are proceeding normally
Initial technical tests on the western mining railway line connecting Bechar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet, which began on Tuesday, are proceeding normally, according to the National Agency for the Study and Monitoring of Railway Investment Projects (ANESRIF).
Supervised by the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui, these technical tests are primarily aimed at verifying and validating the infrastructure along the 950 km route of this railway line, and ensuring compliance with the rigorous technical standards applied during the construction of this new line in the south-west of the country, said Abdelkader Mazzar, Central Director of Communications at ANESRIF.
These tests also aim to evaluate the dynamic performance of the line, particularly at high speed, and to examine the quality of components such as rails and welds, in addition to testing the proper functioning of signalling systems along the entire route, he explained.
According to Mr Mazzar, these technical tests also involve the verification and inspection of the 45 engineering structures built along the same route.
It should be noted that these tests are supervised by the Director General of ANESRIF, Azzedine Fridi, accompanied by the agency's senior management, project managers, and representatives of the companies and public corporations and Chinese partner involved in the construction of this major railway infrastructure, since the test run from Tindouf station to the wilaya of Bechar, aboard a locomotive specially equipped for this type of testing and transport.
In addition to this important stage of technical testing on the railway line, ANESRIF is also contributing to the renovation and modernization of Bechar railway station by overseeing several operations and modernization works on various aspects of the infrastructure, Mr Mazzar emphasized.
