According to the explanations given to the Minister, the two cargoes, which left from Batna, which in recent years has become a national ceramic pole, comprise 7,412 m2 of this product.
The Minister was accompanied by the Wali of Batna, Mohamed Benmalek and officials of the private exporting company Ceram-Decor, who reported that their first export experiences date back to 2018.
On the spot, Kamel Rezig stated, according to the APS news agency, that the decision taken by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to protect this industry by encouraging it and banning the import of the same products, "has come to fruition by satisfying the needs of the domestic market and directing it towards export".
He added that work is currently being done to develop certain sectors where Algeria has major competitive advantages, particularly in relation to African and Arab markets, such as ceramics produced locally according to standards and characteristics equal to those of international products with a view to promoting exports.
"We are receiving great demands in this area from neighbouring countries and other countries," said the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, who invited producers to further develop their products to export to African and Arab countries, and increase non-hydrocarbon revenues.
During 2022, more than 53 non-hydrocarbon export operations were carried out for more than US$3 million by 22 economic operators, said the wali of Batna.
