World Bank: Appointment of new Resident Representative in Algeria

The World Bank has appointed Ms Cemile Hacibeyoglu Ceren as the new resident representative of its joint office in Algeria, succeeding Mr Kamel Braham. Her mission will be to coordinate relations between the World Bank, the Algerian government and development partners, supporting initiatives aligned with national priorities. With nearly 20 years of experience in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia, she most recently headed IFC operations in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone. A specialist in private sector development, she will contribute to diversifying Algeria's economic efforts. This office is part of the “One World Bank” approach, which brings together IBRD, IFC and MIGA to provide more coherent and effective solutions.
