Hydrocarbons: Arkab receives Colombian ambassador

The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Algeria, José Antonio Solarte Gomez, at his ministry's headquarters on Tuesday, according to a statement from the ministry.

The meeting, attended by the Secretary of State to the Minister in charge of Mines, Karima Bekir Tafer, and several executives from the sector, focused on bilateral relations between the two countries.


The two parties examined the prospects for their development, reviewed opportunities for partnership and investment between the Sonatrach group and Colombian companies operating in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors.


Arkab invites Colombian companies to invest in Algeria

In this context, the Minister of State invited Colombian partners to participate in international tenders launched by Algeria, particularly in the fields of hydrocarbon research and exploration.


Arkab also emphasized Algeria's commitment to building balanced and fruitful strategic partnerships with friendly countries, based on the mutual benefit principle, technology transfer, and the development of national resources.


The Colombian ambassador calls for the development of South-South cooperation


He also highlighted the importance of being open to successful international experiences, particularly Colombia's experience in developing the oil and gas industries and exploiting mineral resources to achieve sustainable development goals.


The Colombian ambassador, for his part, expressed his country's appreciation for the opportunities for cooperation offered in Algeria, stating that Algeria is a historic friend of his country seeks to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of hydrocarbons and mining, and to develop South-South cooperation; the statement concluded.
