One million trees will be planted in one day across Algeria

A large-scale reforestation operation is being prepared for the end of the month. The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Forests, has announced the launch of a national campaign to plant one million tree seedlings in a single day. The event is scheduled for October 25 and will involve all of the country's provinces.

The Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Association "Algérie Verte" led by Fouad Maâla, is organizing a large-scale reforestation operation aimed at planting one million trees in a single day on October 25. This initiative is part of efforts to combat climate change and desertification, while strengthening vegetation cover and forest ecosystems. It also encourages citizen involvement, particularly among young people, in environmental preservation. Minister Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid emphasized that this is a national commitment to a sustainable future, calling on all stakeholders—institutions, associations, schools, and citizens—to join in this day dedicated to nature and solidarity.
