Stellantis chooses Algerian company to supply brake pads

Stellantis El Djazaïr announced on Tuesday in a press release that it had entered into a strategic partnership with IKAM Auto Industrie, one of the national leaders in braking systems, with a view to launching local production of brake pads for the Algerian market.

"This agreement provides for the supply of multi-brand spare parts for the manufacturer's after-sales network and is part of the overall integration plan, which also includes the prospect of supplying the Tafraoui plant, currently in the supplier selection phase," the statement said.

According to the same source, products designed by IKAM Auto Industrie are certified according to international safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with national market requirements and their integration into the group's supply chains.

Stellantis wishes to build an integrated, competitive and innovation-oriented automotive ecosystem in Algeria, to achieve more than 30% local integration by 2026. In the medium term, the manufacturer also wants to position local production in the Middle East and African markets, paving the way for export opportunities.
