At the 16th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, China, Algerian Minister of Knowledge Economy Noureddine Ouadah presented Algeria's experience in promoting entrepreneurship and improving the business climate. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation and sharing experiences to meet global challenges. Since 2019, Algeria has undertaken far-reaching reforms to structure its entrepreneurial ecosystem, with more than 414,000 micro-enterprise projects registered and 30,000 self-entrepreneurs registered by January 2024. The country has established a framework conducive to startups, including a labelling program, a public venture capital fund and a network of over 80 incubators. These advances are based on institutional reforms, the digitization of procedures and a diversified financing policy. The Algerian experience illustrates the potential for rapid transformation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem thanks to a strong political will and an integrated approach.
