Economic partnership with South Korea: Algeria sets priority sectors

The Algerian-Korean Economic Forum, held in Algiers under the theme “Korea-Algeria Global Manufacturing Partnership,” marks an important step in strengthening economic relations between the two countries. Organized by the South Korean Embassy and KOTRA, in collaboration with AAPI and the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event highlighted areas for strategic cooperation, particularly in the electronics, automotive, renewable energy, and industrial equipment sectors. Algeria hopes to draw inspiration from the South Korean model of industrialization to develop a competitive, export-oriented industry while reducing its imports. The forum also provided an opportunity to present the reforms undertaken to improve the business climate in Algeria, with an emphasis on transparency, simplification of procedures, and equal treatment of local and foreign investors.
