Speaking before the Economic Affairs, Development, Industry and Trade Committee of the National People's Assembly (APN), the Minister explained that the delivery of these zones was part of "the implementation of the initial program, which includes 142 small-scale activity zones nationwide, covering a total area of 400 hectares, the development of which has benefited from a financial envelope of DA15 billion from the Local Authorities Guarantee and Solidarity Fund (FGSCL)".

He pointed out that this program was part of "the overall vision adopted by the public authorities to turn local authorities into investment-attracting units", which, he said, would make it possible to "create wealth and enshrine comprehensive socio-economic development".

Mr. Merad also pointed out that for the 2024 financial year, the FGSCL has earmarked DA100 billion for the various development programs at local level, a sum which has enabled 5,380 projects to be registered.
