The Italian group Bonatti wants to strengthen its presence in Algeria

As part of the development of strategic partnerships between Algeria and Italy in the field of hydrocarbons and mining, the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr Mohamed Arkab, received the CEO of the Italian company Bonatti, Mr Andrea Colombo, at his department's headquarters in Algiers on Monday. Mr Andrea Colombo, in the presence of the Secretary of State for Mining, Ms Karima Bekir Tafer, and several ministry officials.

According to a statement from the ministry, this meeting provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for cooperation and investment between the state-owned Sonatrach group and Bonatti, a major player in industrial and energy engineering in Europe.

Discussions focused in particular on the development of upstream oil and gas activities, increasing natural gas production capacity, and engineering and construction projects for infrastructure related to the oil, gas, and mining industries.

On this occasion, Mr Mohamed Arkab praised the excellent relations between Algeria and Italy in the energy sector, emphasizing that the existing partnerships between companies in both countries illustrate a model of cooperation based on mutual trust, the transfer of know-how, and the convergence of economic interests in a global context marked by energy transition.

Investment and innovation opportunities. The United States offers a wide range of investment and innovation opportunities.

 

The two parties agreed to strengthen technical cooperation and joint investments, while exploring new opportunities in future structural projects in the sector. These initiatives aim to support the growth of the hydrocarbon sector in Algeria and consolidate the Algerian-Italian strategic partnership in the fields of oil, gas, and mining.

 

For his part, Mr Andrea Colombo expressed Bonatti's desire to strengthen its presence in Algeria and continue its fruitful collaboration with Sonatrach, particularly through new projects in the operation, transport, and construction of energy and mining infrastructure.

 

He also highlighted Bonatti's availability to offer innovative technical and engineering solutions that can increase the efficiency of energy projects and support Algeria's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.
