Appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer of the Sonarem Group

On Monday, Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, presided over the ceremony at the ministry's headquarters to appoint Mr Reda Belhadj as interim Chief Executive Officer of the Sonarem Group. He succeeds Belkacem Soltani.

The Minister of Energy and Mines emphasized that Reda Belhadj's appointment as head of the Sonarem Group is part of a drive to modernize the mining sector. He recalled Sonarem's strategic role in the sustainable development of national mining resources and the development of structural projects such as those in Gara Djebilet, Tala Hamza – Oued Amizour, and Bled El Hadba – Oued Kebrit. The minister praised Mr Belhadj's skills, backed by 25 years of experience in the steel and mining industries, and reaffirmed his support for the group's ongoing reforms. Sonarem, considered a major industrial hub, focuses on strategic partnerships, technological innovation, and specialized training. The minister also thanked Belkacem Soltani for his tenure, while Mr Belhadj expressed his gratitude and commitment to pursuing a strategy focused on innovation and international partnerships.
