Natural gas supply: Sonatrach extends its contract with the Czech Republic

The Sonatrach group has announced the signing of a natural gas sale and purchase agreement with the Czech energy company ČEZ, extending the current gas supply contract with the Czech Republic.

According to a statement from the group, this agreement provides for an additional year of supply, starting October 1, 2025, via the gas pipeline connecting Algeria to Italy, before being redirected to the Czech market.

This contract extension is part of Sonatrach's strategy to strengthen its presence in the European energy market, particularly in Central Europe, where demand for natural gas is growing steadily.

The Algerian group emphasizes that this agreement not only strengthens Algeria's position as a reliable energy supplier but also demonstrates its desire to expand bilateral economic partnerships to new horizons.

For Sonatrach, this new step consolidates energy cooperation ties between Algiers and Prague, while confirming Algeria's key role in the energy security of the European continent.
