Algeria-Turkey: Third session of bilateral political consultations held

The third session of Algerian-Turkish political consultations took place on Friday in Istanbul.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Lounes Magramane, co-chaired the proceedings with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion, both parties expressed their satisfaction with "the historical ties and the exceptional level reached by Algerian-Turkish relations in recent years," as well as with "the important steps taken in strengthening the partnership between them in various fields, particularly economic and commercial," according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the same source, this session focused on "the schedule of upcoming bilateral deadlines and ways to take full advantage of them to strengthen cooperation and partnership relations, in line with the vision and will of the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan".

In addition, the two sides exchanged views "on several regional and international issues of common interest, in particular developments in the Middle East and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the issue of Western Sahara and the Sahel region," the statement said.
