Adjal in Tizi-Ouzou to inspect a major project

The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy, Mourad Adjal, began a working visit and inspection tour in the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou on Monday to inspect the progress of the electrical transformer manufacturing project under construction in the wilaya.

This project, crucial for the Algerian energy sector, aims to strengthen the national electricity grid by reducing imports. Launched in 2017 following an agreement between Algeria and India, it involves the creation of an electrical transformer factory in Azazga, in partnership with the Indian company Vijai Electricals Ltd. The investment amounts to 4.7 billion dinars, with an annual production capacity of 115 transformers (8,300 MVA) and the creation of 358 permanent jobs. The authorities insist on adherence to the implementation schedule.
