26th GECF ministerial meeting in Iran: Algeria takes part in the proceedings

In his capacity as representative of the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mr Mohamed Arkab, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Mr Abdelkrim Aouissi, took part this Sunday in Teheran, Iran, in the work of the 26th ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

According to a Ministry press release, the CEO of the state-owned Sonatrach Group, Mr. Rachid Hachichi, and senior officials from the Ministry of Energy also took part in the summit.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Aouissi stressed the importance Algeria attaches to a partnership between GECF member countries while highlighting the resounding success of the seventh summit of GECF heads of state held in Algiers last March: "The Algiers Declaration represents an ambitious roadmap for the realization of a joint visit to the future of natural gas as a sustainable energy", he declared.
