The meetings were part of a participatory and consultative approach initiated by the ministry, addressing various issues related to the organization and control of the national market in high-consumption sectors such as coffee, school supplies, and home appliances.

Mitigating the Impact of Rising Coffee Prices on the Stock Market

In the first meeting, Zitouni discussed with coffee importers and processors the challenges posed by rising international coffee prices and their repercussions on the national market. They explored possible means to mitigate the effects of these price increases on global exchanges.

Easing the Financial Burden on Families for the Upcoming School Year

The second meeting focused on preparing for the upcoming school year. The minister emphasized the need to ensure the availability of all school supplies at affordable prices to reduce the financial burden on Algerian families for the 2024-2025 academic year. He discussed with producers and importers the diversification of national production of school supplies and encouraged investment in this area. Zitouni also urged economic operators to enhance their participation in school supply fairs organized before the school year to offer competitively priced products and help ease the financial strain on families.

Meeting the Demand for Air Conditioners This Summer

In the third meeting with home appliance manufacturers, the minister stressed the importance of developing a production plan and a wide distribution network to meet the demand for home appliances, especially air conditioners, which are in high demand during the summer. This need will coincide with the expected distribution of a significant number of new housing units.

At the conclusion of the meetings, CREA President Kamel Moula praised the ministry's efforts to stabilize the market and ensure citizens have access to essential goods. He also commended the ministry's proactive measures and its participatory approach with economic operators.
